It was a sunny Sunday in May, and my wife and I were driving around the Kitakyushu area when she suddenly said, “Oh, I heard there’s this amazing fruit shop in Moji!” That’s how we ended up making an impromptu stop at “Fruit Factory Mooon.”
I don’t usually visit specialty fruit shops, so I was pretty excited wondering “What’s it going to be like?” My French Bulldog Elmo was in the backseat doing his usual thing — gazing out the window and dozing off, enjoying the leisurely drive.
“Since it’s a fruit shop, maybe we can share something with Elmo too,” we chatted as we drove through downtown Moji.

With a Google rating of 4.1, it’s clearly popular not just with locals but also with people who travel from far away just to visit. They stock seasonal fruits throughout the year, and I heard they have over 10 different types of parfaits!
The shop has both a fruit retail area and an eat-in space, so you can buy fresh fruit and eat it right there — it’s truly a fruit-filled wonderland.

The Shop is Complete Fruit Paradise!
The moment I walked in, I was blown away by what I saw. Gorgeous fresh fruits were displayed everywhere, and I immediately knew “Yeah, this place is definitely worth it.”
Muscat grapes, regular grapes, mangoes, melons… so many seasonal fruits! Some were available for tasting too, which got me totally excited thinking “This is fruit lover heaven!”
The selection of jams, jellies, and cut fruits was incredible too — seeing all these fruit-based products lined up was just spectacular.
The fruit sandwiches looked amazing too. I was walking around the shop thinking “I want to try that too!”
The eat-in area was nice and clean, the restroom was spotless, and the whole atmosphere was just perfect. We decided “Let’s sit down and enjoy a parfait here.”
The Amazing Cut Fruit Parfait Blew Me Away!
We ordered their signature cut fruit parfait, and wow — being a specialty fruit shop really makes a difference! The fruits were incredibly fresh and delicious, and the parfait itself was amazing. I was completely satisfied thinking “This is definitely a winner.”
The mango was what really impressed me. It was so sweet and delicious, I thought “You rarely find mango this good.” Right then I knew “I definitely want to come back during mango season.”
The melon was sweet and juicy too, and I really felt the difference of getting parfait at a real fruit shop. The quality of the fruit is on a completely different level.
Elmo’s Delighted Fruit Sharing Time
Elmo was waiting in the car, but I brought the parfait out and shared some of the fruit with him — mango and melon pieces.
He ate them with such obvious enjoyment! Watching Elmo’s tail wagging, I could tell “Oh yeah, he’s completely loving this.” Since I don’t usually give him fruit, I thought this was a nice treat once in a while.
Elmo’s face while eating the mango looked so blissful — it made me realize “Dogs can definitely tell when fruit is really good quality too.”

Parking Location Can Be Confusing
The parking area is behind the shop and a bit hard to find, so it’s good to check the location beforehand. We were a bit confused at first, wondering “Where are we supposed to park?”
Final Thoughts
Fruit Factory Mooon is absolutely a must-visit for any fruit lover. That mango’s deliciousness was truly unforgettable, and I definitely want to return during the right season.
Elmo clearly enjoyed the fruit too, making this a perfect stop during a dog-friendly drive. With so many seasonal fruits available, anyone who loves fruit should definitely check this place out!
